HI and welcome
Hello, I'm astral eye, and I am the owner of the forum. I am a shamanic witch, and an onymouji in training. I have studied and practiced various forms of magic over the years, and hope to be able to share and learn here as well.

Ghost, I would appreciate no trouble. I see many things including the past, and I'm sure Astral will agree with me when we say we want no trouble. I don't care who was right or wrong, I would appreciate none of it here.

Ah well, as Mrs.Peel knows who I am anyways, I'd like to be changed back to Jackal.

No worries here, Yagarasu. I would also appreciate no trouble...there's more than enough of that in the world without seeking unnecessary turmoil here or elsewhere.

Hello there Astral Eye. I'm a bit interested in Omyodo but I just don't know where to start...

Re: HI and welcome
yes. Perhaps Shaolin could help with that, but the bit's about shikigami's are very vague
Re: HI and welcome
From what I understand, kami are basically shen (spirits), and some of them can be basically "bound" into paper as in shikigami. The process as I understand it is very similar to giving the spirit a physical "home", and this sort of resembles the use of paper talismans within the Chinese systems in which the power of a spirit or deity is infused within the fu (mystical writing.) I think it actually has more to do with the practice of placing spirits within physical objects for a particular purpose dictated by the conjurer, very much like the Kachina dolls of the Hopi American Indians.

The same was done in khemet by priests via the opening of the mouth. Was used for status mostly but also pictures.
